Baby Lock Joy: which needle?

   Needle system

   Home sewing machine needles (manual does not print a system code) (p. 16). Buy this system; a familiar size number alone does not make a needle fit.

   Size by fabric

   Lightweight fabrics → 65/9–75/11; Medium fabrics → 75/11–90/14; Heavy fabrics → 90/14–100/16; Stretch, fine and synthetic fabrics → blue-tip or ball-point needle as shown in the official chart (p. 16-17).

   Fitting the needle

   With the flat side of the needle toward the rear, push the needle against the stopper pin and tighten the clamp screw. (p. 14-15).

   Also in the manual

   The official chart gives general sizes 11/75 or 14/90 and blue-tip/ball-point guidance for stretch and synthetic fabrics.
