   Needle system

   Home sewing machine needles (manual does not print a system code) (p. 18). Buy this system; a familiar size number alone does not make a needle fit.

   Size by fabric

   Lightweight fabrics → 65/9–75/11; Medium fabrics → 75/11–90/14; Heavy fabrics → 90/14–100/16 (p. 18).

   Fitting the needle

   With the flat side of the needle toward the rear, insert the needle fully, then tighten the needle clamp screw. (p. 16).

   The official fabric, thread and needle chart also lists blue-tip/ball-point guidance for stretch, fine and synthetic fabrics.
