Needle system
Home sewing machine needles (manual does not print a system code) (p. 18). Buy this system; a familiar size number alone does not make a needle fit.

Size by fabric
Lightweight fabrics → 65/9–75/11; Medium fabrics → 75/11–90/14; Heavy fabrics → 90/14–100/16 (p. 18).

Fitting the needle
With the flat side of the needle toward the rear, insert the needle fully, then tighten the needle clamp screw. (p. 16).
